This eye-opening briefing took place in Westminster Hall last November when ten of the UK’s leading experts in several fields briefed an invited audience of over 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media. It was chaired by Prof. Mike Berners-Lee, who is the author of “There’s no Planet B and “How Bad are Bananas”. (As he pointed out in the book, bananas aren’t bad for the planet and, indeed, have a much lower carbon footprint than many other fruits you might find in the supermarket!) The nine people who joined him on the stage were leading UK scientists and experts on the latest climate and nature crisis and its impact on everyday national life.
The briefing has now been made into this film, introduced by Chris Packham and featuring Deborah Meaden and others.
It covers a range of topics including extreme weather, national security and the economy, food security, health, cost of living and nature loss.
It’s definitely a subject for everyone to consider and take to heart.
