North curry road closures to allow drainage improvements
Please note the following road closures which will be starting on 8th January:
The Shambles (from the Queens Square/Knapp Lane junction to The Pavement) – Closed completely from 08/01/18 to 02/02/18.
The Pavement (from just north east of the Shambles to just southwest of Town Farm) – The Pavement will not be totally closed but will operate under traffic lights from 08/01/18 for the duration of the work, approx. 4 weeks.
Stoke Road (from White St. to just west of The Fosse) – Works now complete and road fully open.
White Street (from the junction of Stoke Road to “Whites Barn”/Morris Way) – Daytime closure in place, road open at night.
The work will be undertaken as quickly as possible but timings could be affected by the weather. As always, please show consideration to all road users.

Due to structural damage the North Curry Coffee Shop will be temporarily closed pending repair.

This leaflet outlines the county policy on salting routes, describes what we can and cannot do and what the public can do to assist, including advice on the clearance of snow from pavements. It also contains a map showing the Pre-Salting Network in Somerset and the criteria that were used to develop this network. also indicates that the majority of roads will not receive treatment and that we all, as road users, have responsibility for our own safety. Bogus calls are being made by a person claiming they are from Somerset County Council asking for information for an NHS survey relating to an accident. Residents are urged not to give out personal information and to end the call. Calls can be reported to Devon and Somerset Trading Standards via the Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 03454 040506, or contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
